Welcome to Gillette, Wyoming, Located in Northeast Wyoming - on I-90, midway between the Black Hills and the Big Horn Mountains - on the rolling plains of the ancient Powder River Basin .  Gillette is the largest incorporated city in Campbell County, was named after Edward Gillette, a surveyor for the Burlington and Missouri railroad in 1891. By saving the company five miles of track and thirty bridges, the man and the city became history. Today, Gillette with a population of approximately 20,000, is known for its prominence in the mineral industry and is considered the Energy Capital of the Nation.
