Joseph
A. Miles, age 48, passed away on July 21, 2008 in Billings,
MT at
St. Vincent
’s Hospital.
Joseph was born on December 30, 1959 in Phoenix, AZ. He completed grade school in Arizona and returned to Miles City to complete high school where receive his GED. After high school Joseph worked as a ranch hand for a few years. He moved on and received his diving certificate and became an under water welder for an offshore oil company in Louisiana. After many years of hard work he became the dive supervisor until October of 2007, when he retired and moved back to Billings, MT.
Joseph worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and traveling. He loved woodworking, NASCAR, Harley Davidson's and never drove by a historical marker on the side of the highway without having to stop and see what it was about.
Joseph is survived by his mother Lela Holmes
of Ft. Riley, KS; his brother Ronnie Miles of Memphis,
TN; and two sisters Lisa (James)
Champagne of Ft. Riley, KS; Rhonda (Steve) Jimerson of Tracy, CA; daughter
Anycia Byrd and son Roeshon Miles, both of
Billings,
MT. He is also survived by his uncle, Howard Syring, aunt, Carol Syring, both
of Miles City, MT., cousins Melvin Syring of Miles City, MT, Jim Syring of
Gillette, WY, Jon Syring of Miles City, MT., and his uncle, Duane Martin of
Corpus Cristi, TX.
Graveside services will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Custer
County
