Funeral services: Friday, June 20, 2003, at 2:00 P.M. at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette

Interment: will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming, with full military honors.


 

Paul Lee Beckley, age 76, of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away at the Sturgis VA Center in Sturgis, South Dakota on Monday, June 16, 2003 after a long battle with cancer. 

                          

     Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2003, at 2:00 P.M. at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2003 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming, with full military honors.

 

     Paul Lee Beckley was born November 18, 1926, in Croft, Kansas to Boyd and Margaret (Coulter) Beckley.  Paul spent his early years in Croft before leaving home to join the service.  Paul was in the U.S. Army from September 30, 1950 to October 1, 1952, serving in the Korean Conflict.  After his discharge from the service, he started working in the oilfield.  During his employment with the oilfield industry, he lived in South America and Turkey, Belize British Honduras, among a number of other places always returning to Gillette.

 

     Paul married Geraldine (Geri) Robinson on December 19, 1986.  Paul and Geri later moved from Gillette to Pine Haven were he lived until the time of his death.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and helping his neighbors and family.

 

     Paul is survived by his wife, Geri Beckley; two daughters: Sharon Heseltine and JoAnn McKown; one son, Paul Wayne Beckley all of Gillette, Wyoming; three step-daughters: Denise Fullenwider of New Mexico, Brenda Burton and Jennifer Robinson both of Gillette; one step-son, Kelly Robinson of South Dakota; fourteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.  Paul was preceded in death by his parents.

 

     In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the Frontier Home Health Hospice.  Donations may be sent to P.O. Box 517, Sundance, WY  82729-0517.
